Played this muni course a few days ago (08/22/24) from the tips (6,019 yards) as a single walker with 3 others in my flight. Pace of play was a bit slow at 5 hours and 33 minutes but it was probably due to my flight mates looking for their balls on more than a few holes. This course is just good enough for walking with only a few holes that had raised concrete borders that make using a pushcart a bit complicated. I shlepped through horrendous traffic from Long Island to Eastchester across the Throgs Neck Bridge and multiple traffic jams to reach another short Devereux Emmet track. The traffic ate up my time that I allotted for warm-up (driving range and putting practice) and barely made it to my tee time with only minutes to spare. I was hoping to shoot a good score in the low 80s on an easy course similar to my recent experience at Brentwood CC but I guess the golf gods had other ideas. All in all, I still think I shot a decent 91 given that I had a sh***y iron game and a mediocre putting performance. The highlight of my round was playing the signature hole # 17, a Par 5 with a 54 feet drop that starts around 260 yards away, with a good risk and reward approach to a green guarded by a long pond stretching from the front of the green to 220 yards back to the left side of the fairway. With my heart pumping a little bit quicker, I pulled my 245 yard drive to the rough, 263 yards away and chose to layup with my 5-hybrid that I hit pure, close to the end of the fairway. From about 90 yards away, I leaned on my sawed-off three quarter swing w/ my 9-iron to hit another solid shot that landed 15 feet below the hole. My Birdie putt had the right speed but didn't give it enough right to left break. Knocked in the 3 footer for a satisfying Par. After analyzing my round, I discovered that I may have a good chance to hit a 260 yard drive on this hole that may take advantage of the downhill slope on this fairway to hopefully add at least an 80-100 yard downhill roll for a possible 160 yard second shot into the green. The course is a little bit rough on the edges as expected since it is currently managed by the town with bare spots as well as wet spots (possible drainage issues) in the fairway and bunkers were decent though with enough fine sand and minimal pebbles and debris. The rough was not as deep as the Black or Harbor Links but was thicker than Eisenhower. The greens ran true and were a bit quick above the hole but most of thre greens were on the smaller side that was consistent with Emmet's style. The course has a good mix of long dogleg Par 4s and challenging Par 3s including a couple over 200 yards but only 2 Par 5s. What stood out to me was its three driveable Par 4 holes including # 1, 2 and 18 that clinched the deal for me to take the long trek out to Westchester. For my troubles crossing over to Westchester from Long Island, weaving through traffic for more than an hour, I was fortunate to be rewarded with a tap-in Birdie on the first hole after hitting a solid 245 yard drive to the left rough. It was the right choice with a delicate bump and run with my 8-iron to secure a 2 footer for Birdie. I wasn't able to use the driving range but it appears that it is not a full length range. A putting green is also available and the restrooms are conveniently located close to the parking lot. Bottomline, this track is challenging and fun enough despite its short stature so my verdict is I will be back to try and break 90 as well as to hopefully hit a solid 260+ drive on # 17 but will not play early afternoons to avoid peak traffic. However, paying $55 is a bit steep compared to other tracks that are in far better condition and plays longer.

Lovely place for the families to spend time during the summer months. There is something for everyone to do from toddlers to senior citizens. There is a sand pit with some slides which is a favorite spot for my kids. In total there are five pools (one for really young ones under 12 months old, one for 3-7, one Olympic size pool with partition done for the lanes, one adult pool and one diving pool). There is a snack place which server usual candies etc plus fries other quick to eat snacks. Overall we love to go there as there is a lot of seating with enough sun and shade so you can choose.

I had a beautiful and amazing time at my Granddaughter Communion Dinner. The food was delicious, the drinks were very good and the waitstaff was very professional, friendly and very caring as far as Covid. They were on top of all safety situations. Samuel was very attentive and was an exceptional waiter.

Pool grounds are nice but be aware if you forget to bring your entrance pass more than two times they will not let you in even if they look you up and see you are a member. This policy is not posted or in writing. The office staff was unforgiving and no management was available to address the situation.

The restaurant in this country club is beautiful and right near Scarsdale, New York. The food was excellent especially the meatballs and pizza appetizers! Salads were so/so but overall this country club has awesome decor and is a must visit if you can!
